Role Description

ServiceNow Vulnerability Response (VR) Consultant with deep hands-on experience in configuring and customizing the ServiceNow Security Operations module, particularly the Vulnerability Response application.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing effective workflows, business rules, and automation for vulnerability grouping, ownership assignment, and prioritization within the ServiceNow platform.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and configure ServiceNow Vulnerability Response (VR) workflows aligned with security best practices.
• Customize business rules, data policies, UI policies, and scripts to support automated vulnerability lifecycle processes.
• Design and maintain configurations for ownership assignment, risk-based prioritization, and grouping of vulnerabilities.
• Integrate VR module with other ServiceNow components such as Security Incident Response, CMDB, and ITSM.
• Collaborate with security teams, platform architects, and end-users to ensure seamless integration with existing processes.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing vulnerability response implementations.
• Participate in sprint planning, UAT, and production deployment activities.

Qualifying experience

• 3–6 years of ServiceNow development/configuration experience.
• Hands-on expertise in Vulnerability Response module (mandatory).
• Strong experience in:
  • Workflow design and configuration
  • Business rule development
  • Ownership and risk logic configurations
  • Vulnerability grouping mechanisms
• Solid understanding of CMDB, ITSM, and integrations with security tools.
• Good scripting skills (JavaScript, Glide API).
• ServiceNow CSA certification preferred; CIS–VR certification is a plus.
